How small can my home lift be?
Firstly, all lifts in homes need to comply with a recognized lift code. In Australia the recognised lift codes are the Australian AS1735 or the European standard EN81.
From our experience, the smallest code compliant passenger home lift is the Aritco 4000 Series.
The overall space required for the smallest Aritco lift is only 5925mm Wide (door side) X 885mm Deep. This includes the installation tolerances. This space will allow for a lift cabin of 580 wide x 805mm.
The most remarkable aspect of this lift is that these dimensions include a fully finished lift shaft inside and outside.
This small lift is used when space is a problem. They have been used to replace dumbwaiters!
